For 37 years I have been a resident of Nunawading in the city of Whitehorse.
I was elected to serve my community in 2003-2005. I have always been interested in community issues and involved myself in a number of groups both as a councillor and as a private citizen. During my time on council I carried out my duties without fear or favour, striving to strike a balance between economic development and the preservation of neighbourhood character. Working on your behalf has been enormously rewarding. My passion is standing up for residents' interests in planning matters, especially against inappropriate developments. I have attended many VCAT hearings to speak on behalf of Whitehorse residents, especially against inappropriate developments that would be detrimental to the residents and their way of life in this city. Sometimes we were successful and sometimes not; but we did stand up to be counted.
